Steve Schapiro (1934 – January 15, 2022) was an American photographer. He is known for his photographs of key moments of the civil rights movement such as the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom or the Selma to Montgomery marches.[1][2] He is also known for his portraits of celebrities.[3]
Schapiro died from pancreatic cancer at his home in West Ridge, Chicago, Illinois on January 15, 2022, at the age of 87.[4]
